Glistening Delphinium ready to pop

They are ready to burst open!  And I'm watching.  It's like a slow-motion fireworks display with the intensity of color and vibrance and life building and building until it explodes in glory.  Oh, my!

Loving this time of year is on my Things I get to do today--everyday--spending time in the yard and garden in a state of open gratitude, appreciation and observation while drinking in the glorious being of each plant's structure and flowers.  The variety is beyond comprehension, and the display is breath-taking.

Clary Sage.  I've never seen its flowers before.  So eager am I!

Blessings for your day.

  1. Hi Andy! I enjoyed seeing your flowers and am also looking forward to seeing the clary sage - be sure to share a pic when it blooms! Delphiniums are so beautiful! Iknow you are looking forward to yours. I enjoyed your post about the lupines too. I grow them and they are one of my very favorite flowers ever. You asked about the lavender. Last year I bought 8 plants at year-end prices and made a special place for them (I've had trouble keeping them alive in the past). They like well-drained soil, so I added compost and sand to the planting hole. They also like some sand or pea gravel to reflect sun onto them so did that too. I have a small stand of lavender, about 2.5 ft x 2.5 ft. It is growing though. I thought I'd cut some and leave some in the patch as it looks nice there plus it can spread some seeds to increase the size of the patch. As far as the prickly pear cactus - it's actually classified as a weed in the plains states, and grows in some pastures! It's easy to grow and the flowers are lovely. This all is probably WAY more than you wanted to know! lol
    Blessings, Beth
