Can't Take My Eyes Off of You

Contrast is what does it.  Or is it the lack of ornament?  No matter, this is the stunner in my August garden.  A very simply set geranium.

No pretense

Sun exposure forces the leaves into chartreuse and emerald. Blossoms show fluorescent red-orange. The whole picture catches the eye and holds one spell-bound. Appreciating this magnificent creation is the task that tickles in the Things I get to do today.
Pure and simple

Wisely placed, this sweetheart, a slipped gift from my sister, grows where it is visible from our evening lounge and chiminea hideout.  Our eyes remain fixed.

  1. I love Geraniums, and grew some pink ones this year, and I am going to try to "winter" them. They are so pretty.

    1. These in the photos were wintered as slips in my sister's kitchen window. What a lovely gift for me! Long live Geraniums! The flowers are edible.
