| Wall of peas |
They made it. I promised I'd let you know if/when it happened. The peas grew taller than an elephant's knee--which I have arbitrarily decreed to be about 3 1/2 feet high. The peas, indeed, are only two feet away from the eaves of the house! I'm guessing 6 1/2 feet high. The experiment of fastening their trellis to the eaves was a success. Anything growing taller than I needs to be secured from above.

Munching crisp, sweet, juicy, flavorful sugar snap pea pods is pretty close to heaven in the great array of Things I get to do today. Shades of Jolly Green Giants in my garden.
