Welcomed Home

Callas greet with grace at the front door

Home feels good.  The welcoming committee of yard growies done good!

Blue Borage

Even though the back lawn has grown three inches too long to cut with the push mower and will be on tomorrow's Things I get to do today, all the plants and flowers got drunk on the abundant rain that fell while we were away and decided to throw a party for me.  It is glorious.

Rosemary's delicate dance
I'm wrapped in the surprise of
beauty around every corner on every plant.  I am home and I am loved.
Welcome Home!

    1. It's tough, hardy, reseeds but is controllable, blooms early until late, the bees love it. The plant is edible. The flowers are fabulous as accents in salads. I started mine from seeds several years ago and now have them here and there around the yard (self sown). You'll love them.

  2. It is raining here, too, for several more days. The grass is green, but most daffodils still have their heads wrapped up and pointed down.

    1. Ah, brave daffies! They are right in time with the season as dictated by the weather--not the weatherman or the calendar. Everything in its own good time. But get a move on, would ya!

  3. Such a beautiful home coming sight. Your Calla Lilies look wonderful. Sad to say that I put our Calla Lilies outside about 3 weeks too early this year (after babying them for months, inside)& they all tanked:-( But I think hubby is more sad to look at them then me. Once the leaves turn completely brown, I'll dig-up those CL bulbs & store them again for next year. Until then I'll enjoy seeing your pretty lilies. May I ask what zone you are located in as it looks like you have your CL's in the ground? I'm between zone 6-7. The Arboretum just dropped us a zone last year.

    1. I'm not sure what zone--it changes all the time. But around here one never has to dig bulbs in the fall. An occasional winter will take some, but the cannas and dahlias are all pretty safe. Oh how we cannot tamper with Mother Nature on these things. Good luck next year!
