Dali Droop

Its time has run out.  You can almost see the pocket watch draped over the edge. Whoever showed that picture to my cactus is in trouble, 'cause it's gone and done the Salvador Dali droop thing.

Looks like it tried to jump over the edge.
More than likely, I'm the one in trouble. Third cactus in a very short time that has exploded and died from too much water. This blog reminds me that I buried a cactus in January for the same reason. Please take "water the cactus" off the Things I get to do today. Oh, never mind.  It's obviously too late.

  1. You drownded it, for sure. My dad always said only water cactus when it rains in Arizona. That's what I did, and had a fabulous lot. Eventually I donated them to the Cleveland Botanical Garden.

    1. Gosh, I've never been to Arizona. Maybe I could do it for a special holiday, like a few drops for Christmas ever year or so. I bet yours were amazing. If I'm ever in Cleveland again, I look them up.

  2. I'm not really a fan of Cacti, but is that one really dead? It's top looks perfectly green.

    1. Its stem is dried and gone--so, yes, dead in the same way that a cut flower is dead. It's just a matter of time, unfortunately.
